What's kept, and who can see it.

No account, no tracking, no cookies of my own. This website keeps nothing about who visits. Buying goes through Lemon Squeezy, which keeps your order and your license's activations. Here is exactly what Crusade and this website send, and where it goes.

USES
No cookies of my own, no analytics, no trackers, no visit logs
KEPT
Nothing about you
Update checkEVERY COPY
At start, and once a day while Crusade runs.
SENDS
The app's name and version
KEPT
Nothing
Buying a licenseLEMON SQUEEZY
Lemon Squeezy's checkout, which sells Crusade as merchant of record.
ASKS FOR
Your email, the cardholder's name, a billing address (for tax), and your card (handled by Stripe) or PayPal; a tax ID if you want one on the invoice
KEPT
By Lemon Squeezy, under its own privacy policy. I can see your order there (see “Who sees what”) to handle it, refunds and support. I never see your card number.
License checkNORMAL MODE
When you activate or release a computer, once 2 weeks have passed since the last check (at start or with the update check), and after an update. Offline mode never checks.
SENDS
The license key, a computer code and the mode. The code is a one-way scramble of the system's own ID: it doesn't contain the computer's name or details, but it's the same each time, so it tells your computers apart and is linked to your order
KEPT
Not by crusadecad.com. Lemon Squeezy keeps a log of your license's activations and releases: each computer's code, its mode, and the date and time. I can see that log (it's how a lost computer gets freed and a refund is checked).
Free trialONLY IF YOU START IT
Start free trial in Crusade: 30 days, once per computer.
SENDS
A one-way code made from this computer's system ID (on Windows, with its motherboard's ID), so each computer gets one trial. Nothing else: not your name, email or the computer's name.
KEPT
A scrambled form of that code, with nothing beside it: no date, internet address or version. It can't be turned back into your computer's ID and isn't linked to you or to a license. It's kept while the free trial is offered, then the whole list is deleted. Also a count of trials started each day.
Refund pageONLY IF YOU ASK
crusadecad.com/refund, within 30 days of buying.
SENDS
Your license key to Lemon Squeezy, to look up your order; the email you type is only compared with the order's and isn't sent on; when you confirm, the refund
KEPT
Not by crusadecad.com: neither the key nor the email is stored. Lemon Squeezy records the refund with your order. The optional ‘Mind saying why?’ answers are kept without your order, key or email.
Reviews, ideas and votesONLY IF YOU SEND
The Reviews and Suggest forms, and “Did this help?”.
SENDS
Only what you type (an email only if you add one to an idea, to get a reply). A buyer's license key is checked with Lemon Squeezy and forgotten.
KEPT
The review or idea and the day it came, until removed; an idea's reply email for 12 months at most, then erased automatically; votes as a count per answer and day. Never your IP address.
VaultONLY IF YOU USE ONE
A vault you or your team run yourselves, in your own shared folder or on your own vault service. Nothing in it comes to me or crusadecad.com.
SENDS
Nothing goes to me or crusadecad.com.
KEPT
Nothing by me or crusadecad.com.

Never sent to me

Your files, file names, and how you use Crusade. Your parts stay on your computer (or in your own vault, if you use one), and Crusade sends no usage data or crash reports.

Payments

Lemon Squeezy sells Crusade as merchant of record: it handles payment, tax, invoices and refunds under its own privacy policy, with Stripe and PayPal for the payment itself. Its checkout asks only what it needs to charge you and work out the tax, with no marketing sign-up.

Who sees what

I (Kyle Chandler, who makes Crusade) can see, in Lemon Squeezy's dashboard, for each purchase: your name and email; where you bought from (city, region and country); the order (product, price, tax, date, and whether it was refunded); a tax ID, if you gave one; and the license key with its log of activated and released computers. I never see your card number. I use this only to handle orders, refunds and support, Lemon Squeezy uses it to charge you and pay the tax, and I don't copy it anywhere else, sell it or share it.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts this website and its license and review functions. Like any web host, it handles each visitor's internet address to deliver the page and to block attacks, under its own privacy policy. The site doesn't store those addresses, and its functions keep no logs (starting the free trial adds one to that day's count and keeps the computer's scrambled trial code: see Free trial). When Cloudflare blocks a request as an attack, its security log can show me that request's address; I don't copy or use it. If a page fails to load, your browser may also send Cloudflare a short error report (the page address and the kind of failure), which helps keep the site reachable; I don't see those reports.

Cloudflare also runs a small, invisible security check on each page, to tell people from automated bots. Your browser runs it and sends the result to Cloudflare, which stores it in one cookie, cf_clearance, for crusadecad.com only. It records only that your browser passed the check, and blocks no one by itself; Cloudflare counts it as strictly necessary, and it can't be turned off on this site's plan. I can't see it, and I keep nothing from it.

"Did this help?" votes

When you click thumbs up or down on a Support or FAQ answer, the vote is sent to crusadecad.com: just which answer and up or down, added to that answer's count for the day. Nothing about you goes with it. Separately, your browser keeps a small note (local storage) of the answers you've already voted on, so the page doesn't ask you again; that note stays on your device and isn't sent anywhere.

Support email

support@crusadecad.com is hosted by Proton Mail (Proton AG, Switzerland). If you write, your email is used only to answer you, and I delete support conversations 2 years after the last message at the latest.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me what I have about you, and to correct or delete it, by writing to support@crusadecad.com. Deleting your order details also means asking Lemon Squeezy, which keeps its own records (for tax law, among other things) under its policy; I'll pass your request on. A license whose order is deleted stops working. I can't tell which trial code is yours without your computer: to have it deleted, send me the code Crusade shows in License ▸ Free Trial Code… (this computer can then start another trial).

I don't sell or share your personal information, for advertising or anything else. There's no tracking on this site, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to switch off: you're already opted out.

Children

Crusade and this website aren't aimed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU and UK), and I don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has sent me something, write and I'll delete it.

Visitors in the EU and UK

The controller is Kyle Chandler, Simi Valley, California, United States (support@crusadecad.com). What I handle, and why: your order and license (to provide what you bought: a contract); site security and support email (legitimate interests: keeping the site working and answering you); a free trial's scrambled computer code (legitimate interests: one free trial per computer); a reply email on an idea (your consent, which you can withdraw by asking). Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record and controls its own checkout data. How long things are kept is said above. You have the right to see, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your data, to take a copy of it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Your data is handled in the United States (Lemon Squeezy, Cloudflare) and Switzerland (Proton Mail), under those companies' safeguards for international transfers.

California

Crusade is sold by Kyle Chandler, Simi Valley, California (support@crusadecad.com), at the prices on the Pricing page. Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California residents can reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.

Changes

If what Crusade or this site sends or keeps changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. A change that keeps more about you comes with the version of Crusade that needs it, and its What's New says so.
